Spring Cleaning Checklist

After the winter darkness, a deep cleaning is an excellent way to get those areas we usually overlook when doing our weekly house cleaning. You might not be aware of these jobs, but they should be on your list:

Skirting Boards

You may miss them when you do your dusting. Use a duster, or a clean brush to remove the dust. Repeat the process using a damp cloth, or spray cleaner. This will instantly brighten those dull boards.

Blinds and curtains

Spring is the time of year when we will be opening our windows more. It’s a great opportunity to clean your blinds, shades, and curtains with a microfibre towel. Curtains can be cleaned in the washer or even dry cleaned. Check the instructions before you do.

Washing Machine

It is a common appliance that gets overlooked. The dispenser drawers should be removed and cleaned thoroughly. Add a cup full of bleach to the machine and let it sit for an hour. Run the machine on the highest setting. Remove the cup, and then run another hot cycle. Should you need a new appliance, consider Integrated Washing Machines from https://www.wellingtonshomeelectrical.co.uk/laundry/washing-machines/integrated.html

Bedding

It’s the perfect time to clean up those areas that you don’t usually pay attention to. Vacuum the mattress, wash all mattress covers, clean valance sheets, and wipe down your headboard.

Fridge

To remove dirt, dust and stains from the shelves of the refrigerator, empty it. While wiping the inside of the refrigerator, soak the shelves in warm soapy water and then wipe them down. Bicarbonate of soda can be used to remove stubborn stains. Replace the shelves with new ones if necessary and throw out expired food.
