The use of video when marketing a business.

Video is such a widely used format now that it is no surprise to find it is a useful tool for business marketing. For example, I’m pretty sure that most of you reading this will be aware of the biggest online video service to hit the planet, namely YouTube. What might interest you to know, and what you might not know, is that next to the juggernaut that is Google, YouTube is the second largest search engine on the web. It trounces Bing, much to Microsoft’s annoyance and don’t even bother with Ask Jeeves. So, if you have your businesses content on there and out there, there is a good chance that it will get a hit from a view or the prospect may even look to find it. What is the point of using video content anyway? There are a number of very valued reasons why.

  1. Raise the impact that your emails are having. We all read emails and receive a load of them. What makes us stop and take a look at one? It has to grab our attention and a video is one of the best ways to do that. It is a business marketing fact that the more clicks you get the more sales orders will follow and a video in the email can get you that click. Its easier to watch than read after all.
  2. Spiking and maintaining an interest. You may well have got that initial click but now you need to keep them hooked. Video is the medium to do that. As we noted before it is easier to watch information than read it so a powerful video will grab the attention and, if statistics are to be believed, keep at least sixty five percent watching it for well over halfway.

  1. Getting to their sensitive side. The use of images creates emotions and connections that the viewer will naturally seek out from something they are viewing. In their mind the brain will be checking with them; Is this relevant to me? Am I interested? Where is this going? What is this trying to tell me? amongst many other thoughts. Get the tone and the images presented right and you could get a prospect buying into you before the end of the video.
  2. If you film it they will buy. The conversion rate for video is statistically above that of traditional standard marketing. Marketing companies have confirmed that video conversion outstrips other ways but a considerable margin.
